Over the course of two hours, participants will discover different technological routes to transform fish discards, chicken feathers, whey, and even CO₂ emissions into valuable bioproducts.

Laura Oleaga – R&D technician (food industry sector) in Pescanova

Laura holds degrees in Environmental Sciencies and Marine Sciencies, and a Master’s degree in Science and Technology for the Preservation of Fisheries Products. For the last 7 years, she has been working at Pescanova, in the food industry sector, as an R&D technician, specifically for surimi products area.

Borja Lagoa – Researcher in Anfaco

He is a biologist specialised in biotechnology, with a PhD in Environmental Chemical Engineering from the University of Coruña. Over the past four years, he has worked as a researcher in the Sustainability and Circular Economy Department at ANFACO-CECOPESCA, where he leads and manages both national and international projects.

Marta Franco – Senior researcher at IDENER

Senior Researcher, IDENER | Marta Franco is a Computational Biologist with deep expertise in genomic and proteomic data analysis. At IDENER, she combines research and project coordination, leading the computational screening of proteolytic bacteria within the VALORISH project. 

Dr. Noura Raddadi – Associate Professor of industrial and environmental biotechnology at the University of Bologna

Dr. Noura Raddadi is an expert in industrial and environmental biotechnology. She is the coordinator of ONE EARTH project and is/has been involved in other 7 European (HE, H2020, FP7) and 5 national projects on the development of innovative biotechnological processes for the discovery/exploitation of marine/extremophylic bacteria in biodegradation of plastics and organic compounds, for microbial metabolites production and for the valorization of agroindustrial wastes/by-products. She co-authored 48 peer reviewed papers with a h index of 23 and 2210 citations (WOS) and 7 book chapters. 

Dr. Anna Laura Eusebi – Associate Professor, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Operations Director, WWEELab

Dr. Anna Laura Eusebi has extensive experience in developing and validating advanced technologies and processes for the treatment and valorization of liquid matrices, primarily in the water sector, with a focus on environmental and carbon footprint impacts. Her experience enabled her to collaborate or coordinate 80 international research projects. She is the author of numerous articles in indexed journals and contributions to national and international conferences (H-index = 29 – over 2,300 citations).

Celia Costas – Researcher, Biologist at University of Santiago de Compostela

Celia is a Biologist with a PhD in Basic research and applied to Veterinaty sciences from University of Santiago de Compostela. Her area of expertise comprises marine biotoxins toxicity assessment in vivo and in vitro models. Currently participating in the PROMISEANG project managing bioactive properties in cell models.
