The ONE EARTH project has published a new press release highlighting the first results achieved after nearly two years of research and innovation activities.
Presented during the project’s open conference in Ancona, Italy, the results demonstrate how residues from the dairy, fishery, and poultry sectors can be transformed into valuable bio-based ingredients and products through innovative biotechnological processes.
Among the achievements featured in the press release are the production of omega-3-rich ingredients from cheese whey, the recovery of protein-rich fractions from fishery and poultry residues, and the development of an improved algae cultivation system. Together, these results support the project’s vision of creating circular value chains that connect different sectors and make better use of underutilised biological resources.
The press release also highlights the collaborative work of the 15-partner consortium and outlines the project’s next steps, including further validation of the developed solutions and assessments of their sustainability and future market potential.
The results were presented during the ONE EARTH Open Conference, which brought together researchers, industry representatives, and stakeholders under the theme “Turning residual biomass into value: cross-sector circular bioeconomy across land and sea.”
