The first year of the ONE EARTH project laid the foundations for building circular value chains from animal-origin residues. With the consortium established, research activities initiated, and stakeholder engagement underway, the groundwork is now in place for the next stage of the project.
Year 2 will focus on moving from planning to practice. This means:
- advancing research activities and consolidating early findings,
- scaling up testing from laboratory to pilot-level demonstrations,
- engaging more closely with communities, industries, and policymakers to ensure relevance and impact.
The aim is to begin showing how concepts developed during the first year can be translated into practical examples of circular bioeconomy solutions. While much work still lies ahead, the transition from preparation to demonstration will be a significant step forward.
Looking ahead, ONE EARTH will continue to contribute to the European Union’s vision for a more sustainable and circular economy, providing pathways where residues are no longer treated as waste, but as resources for innovation and growth.
